A Message from the County Executive
On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, eight senior member nominees of my cabinet were confirmed by the County Council and officially sworn into office to continue serving Prince Georgians in their respective roles. I nominated these candidates based on their demonstrated leadership, industry expertise, work ethic, resilience, and ultimately, their shared love and vision for the future of Prince George’s County. I am proud to have such exemplary leaders as we work toward my administration’s goal to “Elevate Prince George’s”. Read more about some more of my key appointments here.
The following County officials have been confirmed and sworn in:

Maxene Bardwell, Chief Administrative Officer
-
George Nader, Chief of Police
-
George Nichols, Assistant Chief of Police (sworn in, council confirmation not required)
-
Thelmetria Michaelides, Fire Chief
-
Dr. Katina Gomez, Director of Homeland Security
-
Linda Allen, Director of Finance
-

Every one of them has answered the call and so far, have exceeded my expectations. These confirmations are more than a defining moment for my administration. It's a monumental vote of confidence that signals we are implementing change and improving the quality of life for all Prince Georgians.
My Administration is united in elevating Prince George’s County by delivering on my key priorities: unifying government, beautifying the County, focusing on economic development, delivering a world-class education in our public schools, and maintaining a comprehensive public safety strategy. I am also committed to inclusion and representation of Prince Georgians from all walks of life, with many of yesterday’s appointments being the first of their heritage, background, or other consideration in their position.
Our new County leaders are guiding Prince George’s County into a new era of government. We are collaborating across the County to create the responsive, transparent, and effective government that every Prince Georgian deserves. Please be sure to follow our journey on Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube, and Nextdoor.
Yours with gratitude,
