Office of Law
Casey Wiggin serves as Associate County Attorney III in the Office of Law. She regularly handles her assignments in a professional and timely manner while remaining responsive to her clients, colleagues, and managers. After being promoted to the Government Operations Division for her outstanding work ethic she led County-wide initiative to review and update all departments and agencies retention schedules. She was also instrumental in working with partners like the Office of Central Services and the Maryland Archives to complete this work, which is ongoing as it is a monumental task.
Anchula George
County Council
Anchula George serves as the IT Manager for the County Council. Technology is an integral part of our lives and an important way for us to communicate and share information with our constituents. When there is a breakdown, our ability to reach our residents suffers, and it is Anchula who coordinates with the County Council’s technical and administrative staff members, system specialists, and appropriate vendors to ensure that all priorities and information technology objectives are met to best connect with our residents.
Leona Banks-Ward
Office of Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy
Leona Banks-Ward serves as the Victim/Witness Coordinator in the Office of the State’s Attorney. Leona goes above and beyond to assist victims, and their families cope with the horrible crimes that have impacted their lives. She is available during the evenings and on weekends to answer calls, coordinate services, or to assist attorneys with trial preparation. Leona takes her job seriously and strives to exceed expectations. For Leona, her position is not just a job, it is her passion.
Sergeant William Kenley
Department of Corrections
Sergeant William Kenley is a correctional officer with the Department of Corrections. Not only is Sergeant Kenley a leader among his peers as an Emergency Response Team Leader, he also spearheaded the launch of two new service initiatives during Fall 2024: a winter coat drive for local elementary school students which donated 100 brand-new coats for children in need and a mentoring program for juveniles in the detention center that brings together a volunteer group of correctional officers and police officers who regularly visit with juveniles in the facility to play basketball and discuss important life skills and other topics. Sergeant Kenley’s initiative goes far and above his job-related responsibilities. His compassion and commitment to our community, both inside and outside of the jail, represents the best of our Department of Corrections.
Ceronne J. Hylton
Fire/EMS Department
Ceronne J. Hylton serves as an Administrative Aide IV in the Fire/EMS Department. She is highly regarded and appreciated for her exceptional hard work, dedication, and commitment to public service. Ceronne consistently goes above and beyond to deliver outstanding results, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a deep sense of responsibility toward the mission of the Fire/EMS Department. She exemplifies the values of integrity, excellence, and service and has a genuine passion for making a difference. Ceronne often goes above and beyond by taking the initiative to learn other tasks beyond her usual duties and responsibilities and consistently offers to assist in other areas. She embodies the true spirit of teamwork and leadership and is a true asset to the Fire/EMS team, inspiring others through her dedication and positive attitude.
Andrew Grajczyk
Office of Homeland Security
Andrew Grajczyk serves as an Emergency Dispatcher II with the Office of Homeland Security’s Public Safety Communications Division. Andrew has been serving the residents of Prince George’s County for 10 years in an exemplary manner. He is always the first person to volunteer for a project or assignment and the last one to ever complain. Andrew has assumed a long-standing leadership role in the organization’s recruiting efforts and has attended recruiting events with other public safety agencies. He continues to volunteer for other community events and never shies away from volunteering for tours and other public education opportunities.
Sergeant Erica Johnson
Police Department
Sergeant Erica Johnson has served the residents of Prince George’s County for 25 years. During her impressive tenure, she has served across the department in several different capacities including in the Criminal Investigations Division, Child Abuse & Sex Crimes Unit, Media Relations. Sergeant Johnson currently leads the Citizens Police Academy, demonstrating a commitment to community engagement. Without a doubt, each of her roles has contributed to public safety, crime prevention, and strengthening trust between law enforcement and the community.
Security Officer II Adekumie Adeyokunnu
Office of the Sheriff
Security Officer II Adekumie Adeyokunnu has served Prince George’s County for more than 20 years. As a member of our Bureau of Court Services, Officer Adeyokunnu works tirelessly to ensure the safety at the Upper Marlboro Courthouse complex. He performs his duties with exceptional professionalism and commitment and consistently stands out as the first to volunteer for open assignments, often stepping up to take on extra responsibilities right after finishing his demanding midnight shift. Officer Adeyokunnu not only assists residents with directions - always with a friendly smile - but also proactively offers help in navigating the courthouse and its services. He frequently completes tasks without needing prompts from his supervisors, demonstrating an admirable initiative and selflessness. His unparalleled work ethic fosters a positive work environment within his section, and he is truly an invaluable asset to the Office of the Sheriff.
Sandra Powell
Office Human Rights
Sandra Powell serves as the Administrative Assistant/Office Manager for the Office of Human Rights. Besides managing all administrative responsibilities, she serves as the Assistant to the Executive Director and Office Manager and is responsible for all fiscal matters within the Office and does so without complaint. She also serves as the HR Liaison, OIT, Safety Risk, Payroll, and Fiscal Coordinator, and is responsible for the Office's contract with vendors. Even while on leave, Ms. Powell still answers residents' calls to assist them in scheduling intake appointments.
LeShann Murphy
Department of Housing and Community Development Branch Library
LeShann Murphy is a career public servant with nearly 20 years of experience in the planning and community development industry. For the greater part of LeShann’s career, she has been serving the residents of Prince George’s County through initiatives implemented by the County’s Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). In her current role, she is responsible for the administration of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program benefitting low-and moderate-income households, stewarding federal entitlement dollars of up to $6M annually to support the provision of affordable housing, economic development, public services and public infrastructure activities. She leads work helping organizations fulfil their mission through providing technical assistance, so that they may increase their capacity. LeShann has advanced expertise in project management and nonprofit operations. Her love for serving people is an invaluable asset to Prince Georgians.
Carolyn Floyd
Housing Authority
Caroyln Floyd serves as the Director of the Housing Choice Voucher Program at the Housing Authority. She delivers hats, gloves, and school supplies to children at local elementary schools, flip flops, toys, and personal goods to the Shepherd Cove Women's Shelter, and serves meals at men's shelter. Her commitment to public service is more than a job, it’s a passion.
Marilyn Perez
Department of the Environment
Marilyn Perez serves as the Volunteer/Community Outreach Supervisor with the Department of the Environment (DoE). She is an integral part of how our agency interacts with our residents and stakeholders. Marilyn has a passion for the animal welfare community and working with volunteers to put on adoption and education events across the County. These events educate thousands of people on our services and contribute to fulfilling our mission of finding loving forever homes for the animals in our care. She is also in charge of the Animal Services Division’s (ASD) social media presence, maintains the ASD volunteer group, assists with DoE's Latino outreach efforts, serves as the language access line coordinator for the Animal Services Division (ASD), as well as is a willing translator from time to time at the facility.
Leland Eastman
Office of Information Technology
Leland Eastman exemplifies the spirit of public service through his dedication, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to the mission of the Office of Information Technology. As a Senior Engineer on the Cloud/Server team, Leland has played a pivotal role in several high-impact initiatives that strengthen the security and efficiency of County Government operations. One of Leland’s most notable achievements is leading the county-wide implementation of Zscaler, a significant undertaking that has enhanced our cybersecurity posture in an increasingly complex and dangerous digital landscape. In addition, his ongoing pursuit of knowledge and excellence directly benefits the county and sets a high bar for his peers. Leland serves as a mentor and a trusted source of information for colleagues throughout OIT. Leland is an outstanding public servant whose technical skill, integrity, and dedication make him a vital asset to our Office of Information Technology.
Wayne Lucas
Department of Public Works and Transportation
Wayne Lucas serves as an Arborist for the Department of Public Works and Transportation. He has been a dedicated public servant and community advocate for over 30 years. As a Landscape Architect and Certified Arborist, he collaborates closely with several government agencies, utility companies, and community groups to enhance the tree canopy and aesthetic beauty of Prince George's County. Wayne serves on the Prince George’s County Beautification Committee, organizing the Sustainable Landscape Awards, Arbor Day events, and environmental education opportunities for County residents, and has also contributed to the Growing Green with Pride events. Wayne’s impact extends beyond Prince George’s County also serving as a Maryland Forestry Foundation Board member and Chair of the Maryland Urban and Community Forest Committee. He consistently exhibits a collaborative spirit and aims to support neighborhoods in achieving their beautification goals and has been instrumental in many projects that offer environmental and social benefits to Prince George’s County.
Demetrius Coffey
Office of Procurement
Demetrius Coffey is a Compliance Analyst with the Office of Procurement. He is a quiet force and is very helpful to teammates outside of his division and has assisted with developing several new forms and dashboards to assist OOP with becoming transparent and more efficient.
Christopher Ruehl
Office of Central Services
Christopher Ruehl serves as the Office of Central Services’ (OCS) Facilities Supervisor. He consistently demonstrates exceptional service excellence through swift responsiveness to issues and highly satisfactory customer service for the County’s Department of Corrections. His dedication to resolving problems efficiently and effectively has earned him a reputation for reliability and professionalism. His commitment to public service is evident in every interaction, making him an invaluable asset to the OCS team.
Janelle Mills-Lawrence
Office of Human Resources Management
Janelle Mills-Lawrence serves as Wellness Program Manager in the Office of Human Resource Management. She effectivity promotes wellness initiatives and engages employees at all levels by developing innovative and engaging programs, that keep employees motivated and involved. During COVID-19, Janelle and the wellness team facilitated a two-time distribution of 7,000 plus wellness boxes to the workforce which included PPE and other vital items. She understands the diverse wellness needs of the employees and creates inclusive, supportive programs ensuring that employee well-being remains at the forefront for all wellness strategies.
Walter Balma
Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement
Walter Balma serves as a Code Enforcement Officer within the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement. His work promotes the health, wellbeing, and safety of all Prince Georgians through effective code enforcement. Walter inspects businesses, structures, and ordinances to promote proper maintenance and compliance. He brings decades of experience to his position, effectively ensuring the safety and well being of our residents.
Teresa Pinkney
Office of Finance
Teresa Pinkney serves as Payroll Manager in the Office of Finance. She oversees the vital work of tremendous importance to the morale of our approximately 7,000 County Government employees, ensuring that their payroll is processed accurately and timely every pay period. Because of her expertise in processing payroll for both employees and retirees (approximately 6,000), she is a trusted resource to County Government agencies in the execution of their payroll-related processing challenges. Teresa has a positive attitude, unwavering commitment to excellence and integrity, and is always willing to go the extra mile, all without complaint. Teresa doesn’t stop until the job gets done - until every employee is paid.
Yusuf Sanu
Department of Social Services
Yusuf Sanu serves as the Chief of Finance for the Department of Social Services (DSS) and has dedicated 20 years of service providing essential management-level administrative and technical support to DSS. He develops budget estimates and justifications, ensuring that funds are used in alignment with operating budgets. Additionally, he represents the County on various local, state, and federal task forces and committees, advocating for the County's interests.
Joann Carnathan
Family Services
Joann Carnathan is the Unit Manager for Long-Term Care Services for the Department of Family Services and the supervisor of the Public Guardianship Program, which ensures the provision of optimum care and services for adjudicated wards of the court. Joann takes her work seriously and treats each ward of the court like they are her own family. Currently there are about 90 wards of the court that Joann and her 2 guardianship case managers provide case management services to. She often has to answer her phone in the middle of the night to give consents for procedures when wards are admitted to the hospital. In her role, Joann has to collaborate with the Courts, Office of Law, and the Legal Aid Bureau. Supporting wards of the court is not just a job for Joann, it is a calling and a passion that she exhibits every day in her work of caring for those who are most vulnerable.
Rosa Iddings
Health Department
Rosie Iddings is a Community Development Assistant in the Health Department. She has been with the Health Department since 1998 and has likely been the provider of birth certificates to thousands of Prince George’s County families welcoming newborns. Rosie is often the first person you see coming into vital records, welcoming everyone and doing her best to help residents with their request. Rosie is extremely dedicated and thorough, and her efforts ensure the extremely small records department continues the vital day to day function of providing families with necessary and important records.
