Prince George's Proud: An Update From Acting County Executive Jackson
Dear Prince Georgians:
I hope this message finds you well. As we head into the holiday weekend, I want to remind you that in observance of Presidents’ Day on Monday, February 17, all Prince George’s County Government offices will be closed. I encourage you to take this time to reflect on the contributions of our nation’s leaders and enjoy the long weekend with family and friends.
I am also pleased to share that we have successfully completed this year’s round of Budget Listening Sessions. Over the past few weeks, I have had the opportunity to hear directly from many of you about the priorities that matter most to our communities. Your input is invaluable as we work to shape a budget that reflects our shared vision for Prince George’s County.
For those who were unable to attend a listening session, there is still time to make your voice heard! We are accepting written comments on the FY 2026 budget until Tuesday, February 18, at 5:00 PM. If you would like to submit feedback on the County’s priorities, please visit our website here to find guidance on how to email written comments.
Thank you for your continued engagement and commitment to making Prince George’s County the best place to live, work, and thrive.
Tara H. Jackson Acting Prince George’s County Executive

Presidents’ Day Waste Collection
County Government offices, with the exception of public safety agencies, will be closed on Monday, February 17, in observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday.
Curbside collection of yard trim, food scraps, trash, and recycling remains on a regular schedule for residents receiving County-provided services. There are no changes due to the holiday. Learn more information on waste collection services on the Department of the Environment’s website here.
Bulky trash collections for white goods, appliances, scrap tires, electronics recycling, and scrap metal pickup are made by appointment only through PGC311 and occur on a different pickup schedule than regular curbside bulky trash collection. For more information on the holiday schedule changes, please contact PGC311.
