Budget Listening Session
Dear Prince Georgians,
Budget season is underway in Prince George’s County. This is the time of year where we work to develop our County’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins on Friday, July 1, 2025. Our goal is to create a budget that allows us to continue to move our County forward, helps address the needs of all Prince Georgians, and improves the overall quality of life here in Prince George’s County.
As we work on the FY 2026 proposed budget, we recognize the importance of hearing from Prince Georgians. To give residents an opportunity to learn more about our initial plans for the upcoming budget as well as provide input on the FY 2026 proposed budget, we are hosting our FY 2026 Budget Listening Session on Wednesday, January 29, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Prince George’s Community College, Center for Performing Arts, Proscenium Theater.
Residents are invited to share their input by testifying during the listening session or submitting written comments. Those interested in testifying must register online here by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, January 28. Written comments can be submitted via email to OMB@co.pg.md.us by 5:00 PM on Friday, January 31, and will be accepted in addition to or instead of oral testimony. Testimony will be limited to 3 minutes per presenter and one speaker per organization. Residents can view the listening session and learn more information on our Budget Listening Session webpage here.
We encourage all Prince Georgians to join us for this important discussion and look forward to hearing your feedback and ideas as we develop the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
Tara H. Jackson Acting Prince George’s County Executive
