DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION SANDBAG DISTRIBUTION UPDATE
Remaining Sandbags Provided on First Come First Served Basis Until Supply is Exhausted
LARGO, MD - In response to the large number of residents participating in the sandbag distribution, and the remaining number of sandbags available, the Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) will continue to provide free sandbags on a first-come, first-served basis until the supply is fully exhausted.
Sandbag Distribution:
Sandbags will be distributed through Saturday, August 10th, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as weather permits. Residents are allowed up to 10 sandbags per household. Proof of Prince George’s County residency is required.
DPW&T has established three locations where residents can collect free sandbags:
*North County: Ammendale Facility; 11900 Montgomery Road, Beltsville, MD 20705
Central County: D’Arcy Road Maintenance Facility; 8401 D’Arcy Road, Forestville, MD 20747
South County: 12911 Cherry Tree Crossing Road, Brandywine, MD 20613
“We are pleased so many County residents are taking proactive steps to protect their homes and properties,” said Department of Public Works and Transportation Director Michael Johnson. “Our first day of sandbag distribution saw a large number of residents collecting bags and we will continue our distribution process until the supply runs out.”
