DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION TO DISTRIBUTE SANDBAGS AHEAD OF EXPECTED STORMS
Tropical Storm Debby Forecasted to Bring Heavy Rainfall to Prince George’s County
LARGO, MD - In anticipation of upcoming storms expected to impact Prince George’s County, the Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) will activate its Sandbag Distribution Program to help residents prepare and protect their properties.
Sandbag Distribution:
Sandbags will be available Thursday, August 8th through Saturday, August 10th, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at select locations. Residents are allowed up to 10 sandbags per household. Proof of Prince George’s County residency is required.
DPW&T has established three locations where residents can collect free sandbags:
North County: Ammendale Facility; 1190 Montgomery Road, Beltsville, MD 20705
Central County: D’Arcy Road Maintenance Facility; 8401 D’Arcy Road, Forestville, MD 20747
South County: Brandywine Facility; 12911 Cherry Tree Crossing Road, Brandywine, MD 20613
“DPW&T is committed to supporting Prince George’s County residents in times of need,” said Department of Public Works and Transportation Director Michael Johnson. “Our Sandbag Program is essential in helping residents safeguard their homes and families from the impact of severe weather. We hope residents will take advantage of this important resource.”
