Prince George's Proud: An Update From County Executive Alsobrooks
Dear Prince Georgians:
As you know, we have been working to streamline and modernize our curbside waste collection services. We recently announced important updates to our program that will improve these services for our residents. Today, we want to inform residents of another important change in our trash pickup schedule.
Starting Monday, July 15, trash pickup will begin at 5:00 AM. This adjustment is being made to better protect our dedicated sanitation technicians, who work tirelessly to keep our community clean and safe. The earlier start time will help them avoid working during the peak heat of the day, ensuring their safety and well-being amidst the extreme temperatures we have been experiencing.
We understand that this change may require some adjustments. To ensure a smooth transition, we are asking residents to ensure that your trash bins are placed on the curb by 5:00 AM on your scheduled pickup day. We want to remind you that some of you have a new trash and recycling collection day. It is important to verify your waste collection day here by entering a household address in the search bar. If a new collection day has been assigned, it will be noted along with the day of other waste collection services. If your trash collection is missed, contact PGC311.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we make this necessary change to protect our sanitation staff while we continue to work to keep our communities clean and safe. For more information, visit the Department of the Environment website here or contact PGC311.
Yours in Service,
Angela Alsobrooks Prince George's County Executive
