Community Engagement Week Recap

Dear Prince Georgians:

Last week, we celebrated Community Engagement Week. Throughout the week, we highlighted the various ways that we work to engage and connect with our community. To effectively serve our residents, we need a bridge that connects us to them. Our Office of Community Relations (OCR) works tirelessly to ensure that Prince Georgians have a voice and are connected with the various County Government services and resources that we have available.

Throughout this administration, OCR has been extremely successful in its outreach and engagement efforts, helping us connect with hundreds of thousands of residents. However, we recognize that so many of our events and initiatives are done with support from stakeholders around the County whose work helps us maintain and grow a Prince George’s County that makes all of us proud. In an effort to celebrate our internal and external community stakeholders whose service helps make this County what it is, OCR hosted the Inaugural Red Jacket Awards Luncheon during Community Engagement Week.

Red Jacket Award honorees are individuals that work hard to improve the quality of life for Prince Georgians. Every day, they wake up focused on helping someone else and making this County even better. As we address important issues in our communities such as education, inclusive economic development, or implementing other programs and initiatives that will improve the quality of life for future generations of Prince Georgians, these individuals are at the forefront of partnering with this County Government.

The Red Jacket Awards served as our opportunity to uplift and highlight the incredible service of those community members that go above and beyond and to celebrate the impact that they have made in this County. We want to thank Director Euniesha Davis and the entire OCR team for all they continue to do for our community, and for all the work they put into the inaugural ceremony.

We also want to thank and congratulate all of our awardees. The work that they do is sincerely appreciated and makes us all Prince George’s Proud. Our County’s future is brighter than we can even imagine, and the incredible success Prince Georgians see in the future will stand on the work that these individuals are doing in our communities right now. We look forward to seeing how they continue to serve and engage our communities.

Yours in service,

Angela Alsobrooks
Prince George’s County Executive
