Join Us in Welcoming Prince George's County's First LGBTQIA+ Liaison

Dear Prince Georgians:

Today, we are excited to announce that we are welcoming another new team member to Prince George’s County Government to serve in a critical leadership role. We have selected Mr. Antonio Driver to serve as the first Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) Liaison within Prince George’s County Government.

I met with members of the LGBTQIA+ community and heard concerns about the lack of a position to support this community within our County Government. We worked hard to respond to these concerns and create a new position within government. As LGBTQIA+ Liaison, Mr. Driver will help us to further connect with our LGBTQIA+ community and ensure their voices are heard at all levels of government.

Mr. Driver joins the County with extensive experience in activism, outreach, program management and operations, and community and social services within the LGBTQIA+ community. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Speakout in Washington, D.C. In this role, he is responsible for promoting the organization’s mission through outreach and advocacy, establishing the organization’s strategic goals, managing the organization’s operations and $1.2 million budget, developing and implementing fundraising approaches, and researching grant opportunities to support the organization’s efforts.

Mr. Driver’s previous work experience includes serving as a Family Support Worker for Catholic Charities in Washington, D.C., a Case Manager for the Village Care Center in New York, NY, and as a Program Manager for the HIV testing program with the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force in Pittsburgh, PA.

Mr. Driver holds an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Ashworth College in Norcross, GA and will earn his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, AZ this month.

Mr. Driver will begin his new role on Monday, June 19, 2023. Please join us in congratulating and welcoming him to Prince George’s County Government!

Yours in service,

Angela Alsobrooks
Prince George’s County Executive
