Pedestrian Road Safety Audits
In March DPW&T will facilitate a Pedestrian Road Safety Audit (PRSA) review with a multidisciplinary team to improve safety and mobility for pedestrian traffic. The PRSAs are an opportunity to understand the corridor as a user, identify safety issues based on data reviewed and discuss potential countermeasures to improve the conditions on County roadways.
The PRSAs included in this particular study are two (2) county-maintained roadway segments:
- Brooks Drive (From Silver Hill Road/MD 458 to Marlboro Pike)
- Wheeler Road (From Southern Avenue to Iverson Street)

Right Tree Right Place
DPW&T's Office of Storm Drain Maintenance (OSDM) Right Tree Right Place (RTRP) program planted a total of 55,584 trees and counting. Just in this year RTRP has planted 5,668 trees. The RTRP Program works closely with homeowners and civic associations, as well as the Prince George's County Council. The Maryland General Assembly has a goal to plant 5,000,000 trees goal by 2031. With the progress OSDM crews have been making, we are well on our way to accomplish this goal.
Consent Decree
OSDM continues to work hard on improving failed Consent Decree's throughout the County. Residents can expect to see the following:
- Functional and corrective maintenance on all failing County-maintained Stormwater Management (SWM) facilities
- Sediment Removals
- Clearing of inflow/outflow
- Tree removal from embankments
Progress of functional and corrective maintenance work being done on OSDM facilities
