The first wave of the Prince George's County Litter and Mowing Blitz was initiated back on September 19, 2022. As we close out the first phase of these beautification efforts, our crews have accomplished great results in clearing litter and debris from collector and arterial roadways, enhanced mowing, and street sweeping across all 9 Council districts. Take a look at the overall totals below:

PGC Transit Transformation Initiative Survey
DPW&T Office of Transportation has completed the PGC Transit Transformation Initiative survey, with approximately 500 participants taking the survey and sharing their personal experiences. The survey was a success and produced good insight to what we can do better as a transportation agency. We are extremely grateful for the people who took the time to give us their feedback and opinions. This feedback will be used in ongoing studies to provide the necessary improvements to make TheBus the most reliable bus service in the DMV area.
BEB Pilot Program
The Battery Electric Bus (BEB) Pilot Program began last October and has been steadily progressing over the months. The pilot was done to test out Prince George’s County’s newly acquired Zero Emissions Electric buses. Moving towards a cleaner planet and a cleaner County is the mission we look to fulfill. The pilot started with one route, then moved to three routes. We now have four routes, 15X, 51X, 30, and 21 running daily operations with nothing but our new Zero Emissions Electric buses. Thus far, the buses have proven to be on par and even better than our gas and diesel buses.

Woodlawn Community
DPW&T's Office of Storm Drain Maintenance (OSDM) helped the Woodlawn Community with yard erosion and flooding during and after heavy torrential rains. The team planted trees 🌲 at Woodlawn Recreation Center and removed hanging limbs from the front of neighbors' homes. Job well done to all the crews who worked swiftly to elevate this concern.
