Prince George's County COVID-19
Vaccination Update
Dear Prince Georgians:
- Last week, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) authorized use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in children ages 5 to 11 years. This is such an important step in our fight to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our community and to end this pandemic, and I want to encourage families across Prince George’s County to ensure your children are protected against this deadly virus.
- In partnership with the County Health Department and Office of Emergency Management, we are hosting a Kids Vaccination Clinic for County children ages 5 to 11 years on Saturday, November 13, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Wayne K. Curry Sports and Learning Complex. This will be a fun, family-friendly event featuring games, prizes/giveaways, food, music, and more.
- The vaccine will be available to all eligible Prince George’s County residents who attend the event; however, this vaccination clinic is specifically targeting County children ages 5 to 11 years.
- Walk-ins are welcome at the Kids Vaccination Clinic.
- We are also partnering with Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) to host vaccine clinics at elementary and high schools throughout the County. Residents ages 5 years and older can now receive the COVID-19 vaccine for free at the school mobile vaccine clinics. The clinics will operate Monday through Friday during after school hours at multiple schools throughout the County. Schedule your child’s first dose appointment here.
- COVID-19 vaccines for eligible children will also be available at many pediatricians’ offices, retail and grocery store pharmacies, hospitals, and other health care providers throughout the County.

- The County Health Department clinics and mobile units have provided over 181,000 vaccinations, including over 5,200 during the first two weeks of November.
- During the first two weeks of November, the County Health Department has provided approximately 2,900 initial or single doses, 150 second doses, and over 2,100 additional doses.
- Since the end of September, we have continued to see an increase in vaccinations at County-led clinics due to additional doses provided, including third doses needed by immunocompromised residents to and booster shots to increase immune response, as well as the recent authorization of the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5 to 11 years.
 While the County Health Department now operates only one standing vaccination clinic in the County, in addition to nine mobile vaccination units, there are a number of vaccination sites available in Prince George’s County that are not operated by the County. Please remember that we do not manage nor control appointments or distribution for any sites besides those operated by our County Health Department.

Appointments: Individuals who live or work in Prince George’s County should visit mypgc.us/COVIDVaccine to view clinic hours or schedule an appointment directly. Individuals who cannot schedule an appointment online on their own should call 311 and press # for assistance.

Additional Non-County Operated Sites
- Please use our County Vaccine Locator to find additional vaccination sites operated by pharmacies, hospitals, and other healthcare partners.
- Over 1,128,000 vaccines have been provided to County residents. 579,175 County residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
- As of November 11, the CDC has reported 86.4% of adults 18 and older have received at least one vaccination in the County, and 76.2% are fully vaccinated.
- When including all residents ages 12 and older, 86.1% of residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the CDC.
- Over 96% of seniors (ages 65 and older) in the County have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
- More than 2,700 children ages 5 to 11 years have received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine through the County Health Department since November 5.
