Prince George's County COVID-19 Vaccination Update

Dear Prince Georgians:

  • The County Health Department is demobilizing COVID-19 vaccination operations at the Cheverly Health Center today, May 21 and the Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center on Friday, May 28.
  • Demobilizing the Cheverly Health Center clinic will allow our Health Department to prepare for upcoming school immunizations and help ensure the continuity of other vital clinical operations and services for residents.
  • Ending COVID-19 vaccinations at the Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center is in line with County and State plans to reopen and safely resume services and activities at senior centers and other recreation sites.
  • Both the Wayne K. Curry Sports and Learning Complex and Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex will continue vaccinating people 12 and older who live or work in the County.
  • Vaccinations will also continue via the County’s three mobile units. Some of the additional staff and resources from the demobilized clinics will be reallocated to assist with vaccinating homebound residents and people with other access barriers.
  • Any vaccination appointments scheduled at the Cheverly or Laurel clinics will be rescheduled for the Sports and Learning Complex and patients will be notified by phone.

COVID-19 Vaccinations for Individuals 12+

  • Our County Health Department COVID-19 vaccination clinics are now offering Pfizer doses to individuals 12 to 15-years-old who live in the County. First-dose appointments can be scheduled at mypgc.us/ProudToBeProtected or by calling 311 and then pressing # for assistance. Second-dose appointments will be scheduled during the first visit. Those under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present at the clinic to provide consent.
  • In addition, the State’s vaccination site at Six Flags in Upper Marlboro is offering Pfizer doses to individuals 12 and older. Call 1-855-MD-GOVAX or visit coronavirus.maryland.gov to schedule an appointment. A limited number of no-appointment vaccinations are available at Six Flags Monday – Saturday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Pharmacies and other health care providers across Maryland are also offering vaccine doses to individuals 12 and older. Use our vaccine clinic locator to find information about additional clinics in the County.

Maryland Vaccine Lottery

  • Governor Hogan and the Maryland Lottery have launched a $2 million VaxCash promotion for Maryland residents ages 18 and up who have received at least 1 dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Each day, from May 25 to July 3, one winner will be randomly drawn to win a $40,000 cash prize. On July 4, one vaccinated Marylander will receive a grand prize of $400,000. Maryland residents who have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine administered in Maryland at any time are eligible. There are no extra steps for entry, and if you are not yet vaccinated, you will be automatically entered into the contest as soon as you choose to do so.
  • The Maryland Department of Health will notify winners, who must provide written consent of their willingness to accept the prize. The Maryland Lottery will then contact the winners with instructions on how to claim. For more information about the Maryland VaxCash Promotion and frequently asked questions, click here.
