Prince George's County COVID-19 Vaccination Update
Dear Prince Georgians:
- I am happy to announce that we hit a new milestone in our vaccination efforts for everyone to be Proud to be Protected from COVID-19. Earlier this week, we surpassed 300,000 County residents having received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and now we are almost at 500,000 total vaccinations provided to residents.
- Our County Health Department has launched a COVID-19 Vaccine Locator for residents searching for vaccination clinics located in the County. The interactive map allows users to sign up for appointments and search for vaccination clinics operated by the County Health Department, the State of Maryland, hospitals and pharmacies within a 20-mile radius. - The FEMA Community Vaccination Center at the Greenbelt Metro Station is now accepting walk-ups as extra doses are available. Walk-up hours are:
- Monday – Tuesday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Wednesday – Thursday, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Friday – Sunday, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- As a reminder, anyone age 16 and older who lives or works in Prince George's County is now eligible for vaccination. Please remember to do your part to stop the spread of COVID-19 by pre-registering for your vaccine appointment today by visiting mypgc.us/ProudtobeProtected. Seniors and individuals with underlying medical conditions that increase their risk for severe COVID-19 illness will continue to be prioritized for appointments.
- Lastly, the Kentland Community Center and Cedar Heights Community Center vaccine operations are being closed due to the renewed operations at the Wayne K. Curry Sports and Learning Complex. As you may remember, vaccination operations were stood up at Kentland and Cedar Heights community centers to ensure we did not lose vaccination capacity when the Sports and Learning Complex closed temporarily due to scheduled maintenance.
- Now that the Sports and Learning complex is fully operational, staff at Kentland and Cedar Heights will be used to fill personnel gaps at other vaccination sites and provide additional staffing for our mobile operations, allowing mobile units to be deployed more widely and more often.
- The last day for vaccine operations at Kentland community center is today, April 23. The last day of operations at Cedar Heights will be next Friday, April 30.

 264 individuals were vaccinated at the Second Shot Vaccination Pop-up Event in Suitland.
- This week, our vaccine mobile units were sent to Bladensburg, Hyattsville, District Heights, Suitland, Fort Washington, Lanham, Oxon Hill, and Temple Hills.
- Additionally, a workflow was developed to ensure we can vaccinate those who are 16-18 at County sites, so we can now guarantee individuals in that age group will get the Pfizer vaccine (the only vaccine approved for those under 18), as long as the vaccine is available.
- The Vaccine Equity Team develops a comprehensive equity plan that serves as a living document to be updated as opportunities arise. The plan is based around a zip code prioritization matrix to determine priority areas where the County should direct resources. The matrix considers COVID-19 cases, pre-registrations, vaccinations, individuals and families below the poverty line, and a SocioNeeds Index. Each week, the prioritization matrix is refreshed as more data is collected.
- The County Health Department has provided over 119,000 vaccinations, including a record high of over 13,600 last week. We have already surpassed 8,600 vaccinations this week through April 22.
- This week will mark the fourth week in a row that we have provided over 10,000 vaccinations. Over 4,800 first doses and 3,800 second doses have been provided as of April 22. We are averaging over 2,000 vaccinations per day, this week, across our six locations and mobile unit operations.
- To date, the County has received 139,410 vaccines, and has administered 119,237 of those doses (approximately 85.5%). This metric (percentage of vaccine administered) changes day to day as new vaccine shipments come in and the number of second dose vaccines waiting to be given are administered in the days ahead.
- We are scheduled to receive 5,850 first doses next week.
 In order to receive a COVID-19 vaccine through the Prince George’s County Health Department, individuals who live or work in the County must fill out our pre-registration form.
- Over 244,000 pre-registrations have been received as of April 21 (over 215,000 are County residents).
- Over 159,000 County residents on the pre-registration list have already been vaccinated (73.9%).

 Our Proud to be Protected video series highlights proud Prince Georgians who are encouraging their fellow residents to be Proud to be Protected from COVID-19 by getting vaccinated. While the County Health Department currently operates six vaccination clinics in the County, in addition to three mobile vaccination units, there are a number of vaccination sites available in Prince George’s County that are not operated by the County. We encourage you to sign up at these other sites to increase your options to receive a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

Appointments: Sign up for appointment updates at mass vaccinations sites by texting MDREADY to 898-211. Visit covidvax.maryland.gov for more information.
- Individuals can also call the Maryland Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MDGOVAX (1-855-634-6829) to schedule vaccine appointments at mass vaccination sites. The call center is open seven days a week from 7 AM to 10 PM. The Vaccination Support Center is specifically designed to assist older adults and residents without Internet access.

- As of April 23, over 484,000 vaccines have been provided to 310,028 County residents, with 192,417 residents fully vaccinated.
- 42.6% of residents ages 16 and over have received at least one vaccine dose.
- There are an estimated 728,050 residents ages 16 and older, the minimum age for vaccination.
- Our goal is to have 473,232 residents vaccinated by this summer, or 65% of this population and 80% by this fall.
- We are now at 65.5% of our summer goal. Last week we were at 57.6%.
