Prince George's County COVID-19 Vaccination Update
Dear Prince Georgians:
- We continue to hit new milestones in our vaccination efforts. Over 400,000 vaccinations have been provided to County residents, and 272,765 residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
- Over 150,000 County residents have been fully vaccinated, which equals more than 20% of residents ages 16 and older.
- As a reminder, we moved to Phase 3 on Monday, April 12, which means everyone who lives or works in Prince George’s County that is 16 or older is now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at our County Health Department’s clinics.
- We still continue to prioritize seniors and those with underlying medical conditions that increase their risk of severe COVID-19 illness for appointments at our clinics.
- I want to encourage everyone who has not done so already to pre-register for your COVID-19 vaccine appointment at us/ProudtobeProtected. The sooner we all get vaccinated, the sooner we can return to safely gathering with our loved ones.
- I also want to remind you about the FEMA Community Vaccination Center at Greenbelt Metro Station, which is setting aside 65% of the appointments for Prince Georgians. Please pre-register for this site by visiting maryland.gov and selecting the Greenbelt Metro as your preferred site, or call 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829).
- Finally, when we initially opened our vaccination clinics, we did not provide CDC vaccination cards, instead providing residents with electronic records after their vaccination. We have since changed that policy and are now providing those cards at our sites as residents get vaccinated.
- If you did not receive a CDC vaccination card and you would like one, please email COVID19_VaxCard@co.pg.md.us with your name, address, date of birth, contact information, and the date and location of your vaccination. Our Health Department will process the request and produce a vaccination card.
- It may take several days for our Health Department to process the request, but once your vaccination card is ready, staff will follow up via email.

Prince George’s County Executive
The Prince George’s County Vaccine Equity Team was convened by the County Executive, in February 2021, to achieve four goals:
- Establish data-driven priority areas to focus education, outreach, and vaccination efforts;
- Address potential barriers to accessing county-run vaccination sites;
- Develop a grassroots community education strategy to build trust in vaccines; and
- Outline a strategy for coordinating with the Maryland Vaccine Equity Task Force.
The Equity Team developed a comprehensive equity plan that serves as a living document to be updated as opportunities arise. The plan is based around a zip code prioritization matrix to determine priority areas where the County should direct resources. The matrix considers COVID-19 cases, pre-registrations, vaccinations, individuals and families below the poverty line, and a SocioNeeds Index. Each week, the prioritization matrix is refreshed as more data is collected. Additionally, the Equity Team advises County agencies of inclusive best practices, participates in scheduling County mobile units, and regularly meets with community partners to ensure County residents have access to vaccines inside and outside government institutions.
- Last week our Health Department provided over 11,300 vaccinations.
- This week, we have already surpassed 10,000 vaccinations through Thursday and have provided over 4,400 first doses and over 5,600 second doses. We are averaging nearly 2,500 vaccinations per day across our six locations and mobile unit operations.
- To date, the County has received 127,340 vaccines, and has administered 107,053 of those doses (approximately 84.1%). This metric (percentage of vaccine administered) changes day to day as new vaccine shipments come in and the number of second dose vaccines waiting to be given are administered in the days ahead.
- We are scheduled to receive 5,850 first doses next week.
 In order to receive a COVID-19 vaccine through the Prince George’s County Health Department, individuals who live or work in the County must fill out our pre-registration form.
- Over 241,000 pre-registrations have been received as of April 15 (over 212,000 are County residents).
- Over 147,000 County residents on the pre-registration list have already been vaccinated (69.4%).
- We continue to prioritize seniors and other individuals eligible in Phase 1.

While the County Health Department currently operates six vaccination clinics in the County, in addition to three mobile vaccination units, there are a number of vaccination sites available in Prince George’s County that are not operated by the County. We encourage you to sign up at these other sites to increase your options to receive a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
Please remember that we do not manage nor control appointments, or distribution for any sites besides those operated by our County Health Department.

- Individuals can also call the Maryland Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MDGOVAX (1-855-634-6829) to schedule vaccine appointments at mass vaccination sites.
- Residents who have already pre-registered with the State and live in nearby zip codes DO NOT need to pre-register again with the State to receive an appointment.
Six Flags America Theme Park & Other State Vaccination Sites (Not County-Operated)

Appointments: Sign up for appointment updates at mass vaccinations sites by texting MDREADY to 898-211. Visit covidvax.maryland.gov for more information.
- Individuals can also call the Maryland Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MDGOVAX (1-855-634-6829) to schedule vaccine appointments at mass vaccination sites. The call center is open seven days a week from 7 AM to 10 PM. The Vaccination Support Center is specifically designed to assist older adults and residents without Internet access.
- Those who have signed up with the County Health Department’s pre-registration list may receive appointments through this site. The County provided the State with 31,000 names from its pre-registration list.

- As of April 14, nearly 410,000 vaccines have been provided to 272,765 County residents, with 137,179 residents having received their second vaccination.
- There are an estimated 728,050 residents ages 16 and older, the minimum age for vaccination.
- Our goal is to have 473,232 residents vaccinated by this summer, or 65% of this population and 80% by this fall.
- We are now at 57.6% of our summer goal. Last week we were at 49.3%.
