Prince George's County COVID-19 Vaccination Update
Dear Prince Georgians:
- I am happy to announce that we hit a new milestone in our vaccination efforts for everyone to be Proud to be Protected from COVID-19. This week we surpassed 350,000 total vaccinations provided to residents, and nearly one-third of residents ages 16+ have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
- I want to continue to encourage you to do your part to stop the spread of COVID-19 by pre-registering for your vaccine appointment. Given the increase in vaccine supply, the County will enter Phase 3 for vaccinations through our County Health Department in the near future. About 1,000 people a day are pre-registering right now, which is down significantly from the past several weeks. That means we will be able to move through our pre-registration list much more quickly now.
- As a reminder, the County has a new mass vaccination site located at the Greenbelt Metro Station, operated by FEMA. To receive your vaccination at this location, you must pre-register online with the State of Maryland by visiting covidvax.maryland.gov. You can also call the State’s Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829) to pre-register.
- Please remember that only individuals who live or work in Prince George’s County should pre-register with our County Health Department. In addition, all County Health Department vaccination clinics are open by appointment only. Walk-ups are not accepted.

- Last week our Health Department provided over 10,800 vaccinations, including 7,400 second doses to residents and workers in the County who are now fully vaccinated.
- This week we have provided over 4,500 first doses and over 4,100 second doses. We are averaging nearly 2,200 vaccinations per day across our six locations and mobile unit operations.
- To date, the County has received 97,820 vaccines, and has administered 94,356 of those doses (approximately 96.5%). This metric (percentage of vaccine administered) changes day to day as new vaccine shipments come in and the number of second dose vaccines waiting to be given are administered in the days ahead.

We are scheduled to receive at least 5,850 first and single doses of vaccine next week. There is a 33% reduction in vaccine allocation as a result of the nationwide Johnson & Johnson issue. Therefore, allocation has been reduced across the State.
 In order to receive a COVID-19 vaccine through the Prince George’s County Health Department, individuals who live or work in the County must fill out our pre-registration form.
- Over 234,000 pre-registrations have been received as of April 8 (over 206,000 are County residents).
- Over 130,000 County residents on the pre-registration list have already been vaccinated (63.0%).
- We continue to prioritize seniors and other individuals eligible in Phase 1.

While the County Health Department currently operates six vaccination clinics in the County, in addition to three mobile vaccination units, there are a number of vaccination sites available in Prince George’s County that are not operated by the County. We encourage you to sign up at these other sites to increase your options to receive a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
Please remember that we do not manage nor control appointments, or distribution for any sites besides those operated by our County Health Department.

Locations: Health Department’s Cheverly Health Center, Southern Regional Technology & Recreation Complex, Laurel Beltsville Senior Activity Center, Kentland Community Center, Cedar Heights Community Center, Sports & Learning Complex, and Mobile Vaccination Units.

Appointments: Individuals who live or work in Prince George’s County should fill out the pre-registration form to be added to the waiting list. Individuals who cannot fill out the pre-registration form online should call 311 and press # for assistance.
Greenbelt Metro Station (Not County-Operated)

Appointments: Sign up for appointments by visiting covidvax.maryland.gov and select Greenbelt Metro Station as a preferred site.
- Individuals can also call the Maryland Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MDGOVAX (1-855-634-6829) to schedule vaccine appointments at mass vaccination sites.
- Residents who have already pre-registered with the State and live in nearby zip codes DO NOT need to pre-register again with the State to receive an appointment.
Six Flags America Theme Park & Other State Vaccination Sites (Not County-Operated)

Appointments: Sign up for appointment updates at mass vaccinations sites by texting MDREADY to 898-211. Visit covidvax.maryland.gov for more information.
- Individuals can also call the Maryland Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MDGOVAX (1-855-634-6829) to schedule vaccine appointments at mass vaccination sites. The call center is open seven days a week from 7 AM to 10 PM. The Vaccination Support Center is specifically designed to assist older adults and residents without Internet access.
- Those who have signed up with the County Health Department’s pre-registration list may receive appointments through this site. The County provided the State with 31,000 names from its pre-registration list.

Dates: Currently, the clinic is scheduled to run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 16 – June 30, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Dates and times are subject to change as FBCG seeks to accommodate more members of our community.

Appointments: The First Baptist Church of Glendarden vaccination clinic is operated in partnership with University of Maryland Capital Region Health. Appointments can be made by visiting umms.org/GetTheVaccine or calling the State of Maryland COVID-19 Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829).
- As of April 7, over 341,000 vaccines have been provided to 233,306 County residents, with 108,010 residents having received their second vaccination.
- There are an estimated 728,050 residents ages 16 and older, the minimum age for vaccination.
- Our goal is to have 473,232 residents vaccinated by this summer, or 65% of this population and 80% by this fall.
- We are at 49.3% of our summer goal. Last week we were at 44%.
