Prince George's County COVID-19 Vaccination Update
Dear Prince Georgians:
- I am happy to announce we have a new vaccination site thanks to FEMA, the White House, the State and other partners. The new vaccination site, operated by FEMA, will be located at the Greenbelt Metro Station and will open April 7, 2021.
- You must pre-register with the State of Maryland to receive an appointment at this site. I’m encouraging residents to pre-register online for this new site as soon as possible at maryland.gov, and select Greenbelt Metro Station as a preferred site. You can also call the State’s Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829) to pre-register.

Residents who have already pre-registered with the State and live in nearby zip codes DO NOT need to pre-register again with the State to receive an appointment.
- The Community Vaccination Center will be a walk-up site, available by appointment only.
- We have hit another milestone this week, providing over 295,000 vaccines to 208,112 County residents through our Health Department, pharmacies, hospitals and other sites. We will likely exceed 300,000 vaccinations provided this weekend.
- As a reminder, the County recently moved to scheduling vaccine appointments for individuals on our pre-registration list who are eligible in Phase 2B of the vaccine distribution plan. Individuals in Phase 2B include:
- Residents 16 and older with medical conditions that increase their risk for severe COVID-19 illness.
- Residents 16 and older with disabilities who are receiving SSI or SSDI benefits, Maryland Medicaid EID individuals, Maryland Medicaid REM recipients, and Marylanders receiving TDAP benefits.
- Residents receiving long-term services and support through the state’s Medicaid waiver and state plan services.
- Given the increase in vaccine supply, the County will likely start to move more quickly through our pre-registration list. Those in later phases will likely not have to wait as long to receive their vaccine. Therefore, I encourage you to do your part to stop the spread of COVID-19 by pre-registering today for your vaccine appointment by visiting us/ProudtobeProtected.
- Please remember that only individuals who live or work in Prince George’s County should pre-register with our County Health Department. In addition, all County Health Department vaccination clinics are open by appointment only. Walk-ups are not accepted.
- Finally, the Sports & Learning vaccination clinic will be operational next week after being closed for maintenance, which will increase the available capacity. A small, temporary clinic was in place at Sports & Learning this week while preparing for the reopening next week.

- Monday, March 29, was a new single-day high for our Health Department with nearly 2,600 vaccinations, followed by nearly 2,400 provided on Tuesday, March 30.
- This week we have already provided over 8,800 vaccinations, including over 6,400 second doses through April 1.
- To date, the County has received 94,510 vaccines, and has administered 83,497 of those doses (approximately 88.3%). This metric (percentage of vaccine administered) changes day to day as new vaccine shipments come in and the number of second dose vaccines waiting to be given are administered in the days ahead.
- We are scheduled to receive at least 8,790 first and single doses next week.
 In order to receive a COVID-19 vaccine through the Prince George’s County Health Department, individuals who live or work in the County must fill out our pre-registration form.
- Over 222,000 pre-registrations have been received as of April 1 (over 196,000 are County residents).
- Over 114,000 County residents on the pre-registration list have already been vaccinated (58.3%).
- We are still prioritizing scheduling individuals in Phase 1, but given our vaccine progress, those in Phases 2A and 2B are more likely to receive appointments now as they open up.

 While the County Health Department currently operates five vaccination clinics in the County, in addition to three mobile vaccination units, there are a number of vaccination sites available in Prince George’s County that are not operated by the County. We encourage you to sign up at these other sites to increase your options to receive a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
Please remember that we do not manage nor control appointments, or distribution for any sites besides those operated by our County Health Department.

Locations: Health Department’s Cheverly Health Center, Southern Regional Technology & Recreation Complex, Laurel Beltsville Senior Activity Center, Kentland Community Center, Cedar Heights Community Center, and Mobile Vaccination Units.

Appointments: Individuals who live or work in Prince George’s County should fill out the pre-registration form to be added to the waiting list. Individuals who cannot fill out the pre-registration form online should call 311 and press # for assistance.
Six Flags America Theme Park & Other State Vaccination Sites (Not County-Operated)

Appointments: Sign up for appointment updates at mass vaccinations sites by texting MDREADY to 898-211. Visit covidvax.maryland.gov for more information.
- Individuals can also call the Maryland Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MDGOVAX (1-855-634-6829) to schedule vaccine appointments at mass vaccination sites. The call center is open seven days a week from 7 AM to 10 PM. The Vaccination Support Center is specifically designed to assist older adults and residents without Internet access.
- Those who have signed up with the County Health Department’s pre-registration list may receive appointments through this site. The County provided the State with 31,000 names from its pre-registration list.

Dates: Currently, the clinic is scheduled to run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 16 – June 30, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Dates and times are subject to change as FBCG seeks to accommodate more members of our community.

Appointments: The First Baptist Church of Glendarden vaccination clinic is operated in partnership with University of Maryland Capital Region Health. Appointments can be made by visiting umms.org/GetTheVaccine or calling the State of Maryland COVID-19 Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829).
- As of April 1, over 295,000 vaccines have been provided to 208,112 County residents, with 87,151 residents having received their second vaccination.
- There are an estimated 728,050 residents ages 16 and older, the minimum age for vaccination.
- Our goal is to have 473,232 residents vaccinated by this summer, or 65% of this population and 80% by this fall.
- We are at 44.0% of our summer goal. Last week we were at 37.3%.
