Dear Prince George’s County Suppliers and Business Community,

The Office of Central Services (OCS) is proud to announce the launch of the Prince George’s County Green Book Pilot, which will go live on April 15, 2020. The Green Book is a digital guide for County-based Small Businesses (CBSBs) and County-based Minority Business Enterprises (CBMBEs), to connect them to procurement opportunities within Prince George’s County Government.

Eleven of the County’s top spending agencies have been selected to participate in the Green Book Pilot.  Each selected agency will display, on an agency -specific page in the Green Book, the agency’s total FY20 operating and capital budgets, minus fixed costs and proprietary items, to show 50% of the discretionary spend available for purchasing goods and services from CBSBs and CBMBEs.  Also included in the Green Book will be any planned acquisitions for the fourth quarter FY20 and first quarter FY21. Suppliers will be able to learn the area of focus for each participating agency, and what types of services and products that agencies have not been able to find CBSBs and CBMBEs, or needed services, as a potential growth opportunity for businesses.

The Green Book will be housed on a one-stop shopping portal called, The Prince George’s County Business Highway, “Driving Small Business Opportunities, and link suppliers immediately to information related to vendor registration, certification, contract opportunities, and a variety of online tools and templates to expand the capacity of suppliers to do business with Prince George’s County Government.

The Green Book Pilot is the beginning of an effort by the Office of Central Services to not only comply with legislative requirements that support economic development and prosperity for Prince George’s County, but to respond to your concerns regarding access to procurement opportunities within Prince George’s County Government. We are excited about the launch of the Green Book and look forward to partnering with suppliers and the business community in the future for continued success.
