Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Please note there will be no schedule changes to your yard trim collection due to the holiday. Regular collections of trash and recycling will occur

However, all County offices are closed in observance of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday, except public safety agencies. Several county services are also suspended or closed. To view a full listing and when they will resume, visit the county calendar.

"Recycle" Your Live Holiday Tree

Residents with County provided yard trim collection may place their undecorated, unbagged, live trees at the curb by 6 a.m. on the regularly scheduled yard trim collection day (Monday) from now until January 27, 2020. You may also recycle "live" decorations including wreaths curbside. 

Live trees can also be dropped off and recycled at:

We want every Prince Georgian to be "Part of It, Proud of It, and to Keep Our County Clean and Beautiful." El primero de mayo del 2019 la Ejecutiva del Condado de Prince George Angela Alsobrooks lanzo la Iniciativa de Embellecimiento en el Condado de Prince George. Desde ese entonces el condado ha colectado más de 3.2 millones de libras de basura y letreros, hemos asfaltado más de 20 millas de carreteras y llenado más de 40,000 baches en las calles, hemos instalado cámaras de seguridad para asistir a nuestras autoridades locales a atrapar a aquellas personas que vierten basura ilegalmente dentro del condado y hemos pasado legislación para detener el uso de plásticos de un solo uso.   • Drop off your holiday string lights until February 2020 to the Household Hazardous Waste site at Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill (11611 White House Road, Upper Marlboro), open Thursdays through Saturdays.
  • Check local hardware stores and other retailers like MOM’s Organic Market for more free recycling options.
  • Replace old string lights with LED lights that last longer and consume less energy!
