Message from Prince George's County Executive
Dear friends:
At the start of this month we opened the application process for the Summer Youth Enrichment Program (SYEP), our county's youth summer jobs program. SYEP is a great opportunity for young people to obtain job-skills training and employment experience in a variety of public and private sector positions.
And while the application process has been underway for more than a week, in our continued effort to bring a responsive local government directly to you, we are announcing two application events where you can complete an SYEP application in person. We hope that these events will assist those who have challenges applying online at home, or would simply appreciate assistance from a program representative.
The first opportunity to apply in person will be this Saturday, February 16, at Community of Hope AME Church (3701 Branch Avenue, Temple Hills, MD) from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The second opportunity to apply in person will be the following Saturday, February 23, at Shabach Ministries Inc./First Baptist Church of Glenarden (3600 Brightseat Road, Landover, MD) from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
All Prince George's County residents ages 14-22 are eligible to apply for SYEP, even those who have participated in the program in previous years. In addition to applying in person, those interested in applying for SYEP can complete an application online. The application will remain open until March 22, and the first day of summer employment for all job positions will be June 24. More information about applying in person and online can be found in the flyer below.
We hope to see you at one of our upcoming SYEP application events, and look forward to answering any questions you may have about the program or the application process.
Yours in Service,
Angela Alsobrooks Prince George's County Executive
