Sustainable Energy Program 1

In this issue:

TNI Grant Update: You have the POWER TO CHOOSE 1 out of 31 contractors!

HPwES

It has been brought to our attention that residents believe there is only one contractor able to perform work on projects funded by the "TNI Clean Energy Grant". This is not the case.

Applicants have the power to select 1 out of a list of 31 Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Participating Contractors! Moreover, OCS Sustainable Energy has not entered into any contract for services with participating contractors and wish to dispel the myth that there is only 1 contractor approved to perform energy upgrades via the grant.

If you receive any promotional materials or flyers that state otherwise, or if you see something that appears to be misleading, please email us at TNICleanE@co.pg.md.us or call 301-883-6450 so that it can be properly addressed and corrected.

Below is a list of participating contractors as of October 29, 2018.

Update to Energy Star Certification & Green Leasing Grant (accepting only multi-family apps)

This past summer, EPA updated performance metrics for U.S. buildings in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager® based on the most recent market data.

EPA will work with stakeholders and technical experts to analyze and adjust the scoring models and have implemented a review period that will temporarily suspend awarding certifications for all U.S. property types with new score models.

The property types with new score models and that are suspended include: Offices.

At this time, we will only accept ENERGY STAR & Green Leasing Grant (ESGL) applications for multi-family dwellings until the EPA revives the certification process for office buildings.

To learn more about ESGL, please visit the grant website at https://www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/2872/Energy-Star-Certification-Green-Leasing-
