Electric mowers, blowers, trimmers, and edgers are widely available, usually with a choice of cordless or plug-in models. Making the switch from gas-powered tools reduces air pollution that contributes to smog and the nitrogen pollution that harms our local waterways.
Keeping our lawns in tip-top shape is hard work. Make the switch to electric lawn care tools to make your job easier while providing benefits to you and your community.

Economic Action Maryland is hosting sessions on how to take advantage of the Homeowners’ and Renters’ Property Tax Credit Programs.
Next presentation date:
- Date: July 30, 2024
- Time: 12:00pm-3:00pm
- Location: Total Health Care, 1501 Division Street, Baltimore, MD 21217
The Homeowners’ Property Tax Credit Program helps homeowners with limited income by capping the property taxes they owe. The Renters’ Property Tax Credit Program offers similar benefits to eligible renters, particularly seniors, those 100% disabled, and those with dependents, by offsetting part of their rent burden.
The sessions will cover the eligibility criteria, application process, and the ways these programs can help reduce your annual property tax or rent expenses.
Should you have any questions or require additional information, please feel free to contact Jamila Blake at Jamila@econaction.org.

Home modifications are physical changes to a home that make them safer and more functional for someone with a disability. This can include the installation of a ramp, stair lift or roll-in shower, or smaller things like expandable door hinges or grab bars. Home modifications are often necessary for people to be able to remain in their own homes, rather than moving to an assisted living facility.
The Maryland Department of Disabilities Assistive Technology Program will be holding a webinar to explore resources that can help Marylanders choose the right home modifications, discuss programs to help cover the costs, and identify solutions that make homes live-able for longer.
Click here to sign up for this July 11th, noon-1p.m. webinar.
