Free COVID-19 at-home tests
There is a new federal resource to get free FDA-authorized coronavirus test kits. At COVIDtests.gov, you’ll find information about testing and a link to the U.S. Postal Service – special.usps.com/testkits – where you can order up to four rapid tests to be sent to your home address. You can also order your kits by calling 1-800-232-0233 (TTY 1-888-720-7489). Your kits will be mailed through the U.S. Postal Service within 7 to 12 days.

Apply for help with your energy bill
The Office of Home Energy Programs (OHEP) provides bill assistance to low-income households in the State of Maryland to make their energy costs more affordable and to help with the prevention of loss and restoration of home energy service. A household can apply for assistance once per program year, which runs July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022. The Office of People's Counsel encourages anyone who is behind on their utility bills to not wait to receive a turn-off notice and apply for assistance.
There are updated income guidelines for the new program year, including special eligibility for households with a member who is 67 years or older. You can view the FY22 OHEP income guidelines on their website.
