Job Title: Crime Scene Technician – Trainee
Salary: $ 44,638/ per year
Closing Date: March 11, 2022
Anticipated Start Date: Mid-April 2022
Position Duties:
A Crime Scene Technician - Trainee is the entry level position of forensic field service work. Employees learn to identify, collect, record and preserve evidence found at crime and disaster scenes for laboratory examination and court presentations. Under close supervision, the employee will review crime and/or disaster scenes, process and collect materials associated with the scenes, gather information from witnesses, and collect/store/analyze digital media evidence. The work is physically demanding and employees may be required to work for several hours or more in difficult positions. Employees will be subject to 24 hour on-call and overtime based upon staffing needs and demand for service.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen
- Education: Possess an Associate’s Degree or greater in Forensics, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field from an accredited college or university
- Physical: Visual acuity must be correctable to 20/20 with the ability to recognize basic colors
- Driver’s License: Applicant must possess a Valid Driver’s License
Candidates must successfully pass a complete background investigation to include a police records check, employment history, credit history, education history, neighborhood check, personal/ professional reference check, pre-employment physical examination, polygraph examination and drug screen.
