Child Care Scholarship Open Office Hours
Join us for the open office hours of the Child Care Scholarship program! Our MSDE staff members are ready to assist both enrolled families and dedicated child care providers with any questions about applications, payments, or managing a Scholarship account.

Maryland Accreditation Orientation is Now Online!
The new Maryland Accreditation orientation is online, mobile-friendly, and has self-paced modules that guide you in understanding and preparing for the accreditation process. Participants can begin at any time and progress at their convenience.

Basic Health and Safety Training Update
The Basic Health and Safety Training update for calendar year 2023 is now available. The training is FREE and only available online. Registration is NOT required. Click on the flyer on the left for instructions on how to access the training.
The training must be completed by March 31, 2024. All family child care providers and child care center staff are required to complete this annual update. Upon completion of the course, individuals will be awarded 1.5 hours of continued training. Staff hired during December 2023 must complete the 3-hour Basic Health and Safety training by March 31, 2024.
Upon successful completion of the training, the system will produce a “Certificate of Participation”. Please download and save the certificate. Please save it to your device, email it to yourself, or print multiple copies in case you need another copy. The Division of Early Childhood will not keep copies of your certificate on file.

Licensing Survey
We are send ya Licensing Inspection Survey via email following each inspection of a child care program. This survey allows providers to share feedback about the customer service experience during the inspection. If you haven't received your inspection report and/or the survey link, please check your Spam folder. Alternatively, you can use your phone to scan the QR code provided.

Child Care Provider Portal
If you're a child care provider participating in the Child Care Scholarship (CCS) program, forms must be uploaded to and submitted using the Child Care Provider Portal.
Even if you're not part of the CCS program, you can still sign up for the Provider Portal to do some basic tasks, like uploading necessary documents for licensing.

Supporting someone through loss and grief can be difficult, especially when the bereaved is a child. In this workshop on January 23, 2024, participants will learn about children's understanding of death at different ages and their grief.

Join UMD’s study of Maryland's state-wide program to nurture children's social-emotional well-being. Teachers receive classroom-based support from specialists and consultation on specific behavioral concerns, plus $300. Center Directors receive $200. Fire Safety Training for Early Childhood Professionals
February 27, 2024
This course covers fire safety, fire basics/chemistry, the elements of a fire inspection, common fire inspection violations, fire extinguishment techniques, and response options for fires. The course will also provide tools, tips and resources for developing a plan for responding to a fire in or near your program. Thanks to funding provided by MSDE the registration fee for this event is only $5.

Emergency Preparedness for Child Care Programs
Thanks to funding provided by the MSDE, the registration fee for this event is only $5. Develop a comprehensive plan to follow when a disaster occurs. Natural disasters, medical emergencies, technological hazards, and family and community concerns (disgruntled parents, missing children, pandemic flu) will be covered. Ensure that your plan addresses special needs, notifying parents, sheltering, resources, evacuation and other possibilities.
