Open Office Hours

We're trying out something new – it's called Child Care Scholarship Open Office Hours. We'll be doing this on November 14th from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.

Who should come? Well, families and providers who have questions about scholarships or open applications.

The folks who run the Child Care Scholarship program will be there to help you out. They can answer your questions and assist with applications and payments. They'll also tell you what to do if you have any problems with your scholarship account.

No need to sign up – just click on the link on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 12:00 PM, and you can join us.

MSDE regulations are regularly evaluated and updated. The purpose of the review is to determine whether the regulations are necessary for the public interest, continue to be supported by statutory authority and judicial opinion, or are appropriate for amendment or repeal.

Guidance Regarding COVID-19 and Other Respiratory Illnesses in K-12 Schools and Child Care 

(Updated 7/11/23)

The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) and Maryland State Department of Education
(MSDE) recommend that schools and child care programs follow the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Operational Guidance for K-12 Schools and Early Care and Education Programs for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.

Exciting News for Child Care Providers in Maryland!

The Maryland Department of Commerce announced that applications are now open for the second year of the Child Care Capital Support Revolving Loan Fund.

This fund is established in partnership with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), aiming to lend a helping hand to dedicated child care providers like you. No-interest loans are available for child care providers who are licensed by MSDE and participate in the Child Care Scholarship Program.

The application period is open through December 15, 2023, and we encourage you to seize this opportunity to strengthen your child care facilities.

Portal Testing

New Child Care Provider Portal

Maryland State Department of Education is excited to announce the launch of its new Child Care Provider Portal!

All providers who participate in the Child Care Scholarship (CCS) program are required to register and use the Provider Portal for all scholarship related tasks, such as, but not limited to, invoicing, attendance, and scholarship enrollment.

Effective November 20, 2023, do not mail, email, or fax documents to the CCS program. All forms for the CCS program must be uploaded and submitted through the Child Care Provider Portal. In addition, providers not participating in the CCS program can register to use the Provider Portal to complete limited actions related to licensing requirements, (i.e., uploading documents).
