MSDE regulations are regularly evaluated and updated. The purpose of the review is to determine whether the regulations are necessary for the public interest, continue to be supported by statutory authority and judicial opinion, or are appropriate for amendment or repeal.

The latest survey invitation reminders were sent on Thurs, 09/14 via text or email to a random sample of child care professionals. The email is from Alexis Washington, with the subject line, “Research Study Opportunity: 15-Minute Survey for MSDE Early Educators with Thank You For Your Time”.
The survey will take about 15 minutes, and all survey completers will receive a $25 thank you gift card.
MSDE is working with a research team at the University of Virginia to conduct this survey to better understand the work of MSDE’s early childhood educators.

Licensing Inspection Survey
There is now a Licensing Inspection Survey that is being emailed to you after each inspection for you to provide feedback regarding the customer service during your inspection. New Child Care Provider Portal
Maryland State Department of Education is excited to announce the launch of its new Child Care Provider Portal!
Who is Required to Use the Portal?
Going forward, all scholarships related tasks and supporting document uploads will need to be completed through the Child Care Provider Portal. This means that all providers who participate in the Child Care Scholarship (CCS) program are required to register and use the Provider Portal for all scholarship related tasks, such as, but not limited to, invoicing, attendance, and scholarship enrollment. In addition, providers not participating in the CCS program can register to use the Provider Portal to complete limited actions related to licensing requirements, (i.e., uploading documents).
Be on the lookout for additional communications from the Maryland State Department of Education about the new Child Care Provider Portal.

The purpose of this RFQ is to acquire a pool of expert consultants to conduct accreditation visits, and provide validator comments and ratings to child care and public schools seeking Maryland Accreditation.
