Maryland EXCELS

Bonuses Are On the Way!

Maryland EXCELS bonuses are being distributed to all Maryland EXCELS participants who have met one or more of the eligibility requirements. To learn more about eligibility, bonus amounts, and to view FAQS, please visit the Maryland EXCELS website


Medication Administration Training

The OCC Medication Administration Training content has updated with new forms 1215, and 1216s. The training covers COMAR requirement related to Medication Administration, Storage, Documentation, and Disposal, Exclusion for Acute Illness, Communicable Diseases Reporting and Individualized Attention and Care for Children with Special Health Care Needs with Resources for Training and Referrals. The approved Registered Nurses provide the training and the trainer list can be accessed from Medication Administration Approved Trainers 

The child care providers needing annual clock hour training may choose to retake this training to meet 6 clock hours training requirement.

March 2023 Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) Interface Train-The-Train Opportunity

Training will be held virtually over a period of two days from Wednesday, March 22nd to Thursday, March 23rd from 8:30 AM to 4 PM. This training initiative will serve to create a cadre of skilled, informed Presenters to disseminate the science of the developing brain, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) & resilience in school systems; and to promote widespread awareness of the negative effects of toxic stress, and childhood adversity to mental health among those working with school-age youth. Nature Learning Collective Summer

Earth Stories: Storytelling and Play in Nature

Join us for a magical day of learning the art of storytelling and how to help ALL children find joy and harmony in Nature Story and Play. Storytelling unfolds in recording, reenacting, retelling, dictating, and transcribing the child’s thoughts and ideas in many different forms of expression. Together we will learn how to provide a structure to support literacy development related to comprehension, love of reading, and true play. We will also use storytelling as a tool to resolve conflict and offer resolutions.

Child Care Business

Strengthening Business Practices 

BCCCRC is excited to announce a training series that is just for directors. Strengthening Business Practices for Child Care Programs is a 4-module series, that will be presented by Audrey Cupe-Green and Patty Aburn, Baltimore City’s MSDE Quality Assurance Specialists. The training will cover topics such as sound fiscal management, marketing, recruiting staff and staff retention. The cost is only $20.00 for all 4 modules! The series will be held from 5 pm-8 pm on the following dates: Tuesday, February 21, Tuesday, March 7; Tuesday, March 21. (COK: 12 hours Professionalism)
