Homeless Children: The Numbers, Trauma and Work to Improve Outcomes  Did you know: that in November the nation recognizes the approximately 1 million U.S. children under 6 years old who experience homelessness? First declared in 2007, National Homeless Youth Awareness Month brings attention to the alarming number of U.S. families who are homeless, the trauma associated with homeless children, and the many programs that offer support. The Judy Center Early Learning Hubs

The Judy Center Early Learning Hubs at Lincoln and Waverley elementary schools' Program Administrator Kathy Allen and Outreach Coordinator Kari McDaniel were both featured on an episode of "Tweet of the Week," a weekly show hosted by Frederick County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Terry Alban.

It was a great opportunity for Judy Center staff to discuss the importance of establishing "informal and formal" partnerships with parents, families, schools, non-profits, local businesses, community associations, and other organizations. Watch here.
