Erin is an eighth grade science teacher at North Harford Middle School, located in Pylseville, MD. She is known for her positive attitude and her ability to meet all students at their level of readiness. We are so proud of Erin and all she has accomplished.

MSDE Gives Back

Each year, MSDE participates in the Governor's Day To Serve event! This annual day of service promotes volunteering and the spirit of giving throughout Maryland.
MSDE staff have established an on-going relationship with non-profits and community groups such as Art With A Heart, and look forward to working with these groups every year.

- Approved the FY 2021 base budget estimates, enhancement requests, request for State Aided Educational Institutions, and budget reduction options.
- Granted permission to publish Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 13A.12 Educator Licensure and repeal existing 13A.12 Certification. The proposed regulatory language is aligned to the MSDE’s comprehensive plan to increase accountability of educator certification in Maryland....

Inaugural Conference
 Conference goers attend a panel discussion on the Teacher Academy of Maryland program.
MSDE's first-ever Teach In Maryland "Rising Toward Excellence" Conference was a HUGE success.
Over 250 students from 17 school systems attended the inaugural event to get a taste of what teaching in Maryland is really all about!
Attendees heard from some of Maryland's best educators, including Dr. Salmon, State Superintendent of Schools, and Dr. Richard Warren, 2019 Maryland Teacher of the Year.
