Dear Registered Voter,

Your community needs your help. Please apply to serve as an Election Judge (poll worker) for the 2026 Gubernatorial General Election, and encourage eligible family members, friends, and neighbors to join you.

The Montgomery County Board of Elections is recruiting Election Judges for the 2026 Gubernatorial General Election. Opportunities are available during Early Voting, Thursday, October 22 through Thursday, October 29, and on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Training is underway, so interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Election Judges play a vital role in maintaining fair, accessible, and secure elections for Montgomery County voters. Election Judges receive a service stipend for training and service during Early Voting and/or on Election Day. Full-day and part-day positions are available. Election Judges who served in a polling place during Early Voting or on Election Day in the 2024 election cycle are also eligible for a returning-service bonus of $100 for each full day served or $50 for each part-day served in 2026.

You may be eligible to serve if you:

• Are at least 16 years old and registered to vote in Maryland.

• Can speak, read, and write English (bilingual volunteers with Spanish or other language skills needed).

• Are not a candidate, do not currently hold a public or political office (including State and county political party central committees), and do not serve as a chairman, campaign manager, or treasurer for a political or candidate committee.
