Resolution to approve Supplemental Appropriation #26-60 to the FY26 Operating Budget, Montgomery County Government, Department of Health and Human Services, Crisis Services, Mobile Crisis Team and Behavioral Health Crisis Stabilization Center Grant, $1,016,032
Vote expected: The Council will hold a public hearing and is expected to vote on a resolution to approve a more than $1 million supplemental appropriation to the FY26 Operating Budget for a Mobile Crisis Team and Behavioral Health Crisis Stabilization Center Grant. The supplemental appropriation is needed to add new state grant funds for crisis services. The funds will be used to assist the County’s Department of Health and Human Services in achieving the standards necessary to enter the state’s fee-for-service system and hire necessary contractual staff.
Resolution to approve Supplemental Appropriation #26-77 to the FY26 Capital Budget, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), Planned Life Cycle Asset Replacement: MCPS (No. 896586), $602,651
Vote expected: The Council will hold a public hearing and is expected to vote on a resolution to approve a $602,651 supplemental appropriation to the FY26 Capital Budget for the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Planned Life Cycle Asset Replacement project to spend funds received from the state’s Aging Schools Program. The funds are needed to support capital improvements of aging infrastructure, including school building facilities and site components that have reached the end of their useful life to enhance student safety or the condition of the building.
Resolution to approve an amendment to the FY25-30 Capital Improvements Program (CIP) and Supplemental Appropriation #26-79 to the FY26 Capital Budget, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), Sustainability Initiatives (No. 652306), $3,222,655
Vote expected: The Council will hold a public hearing and is expected to vote on a resolution to approve a more than $3.2 million supplemental appropriation to the FY26 Capital Budget and Amendment to the FY25-30 CIP for sustainability initiatives at MCPS. The funds were received from the state’s EmPOWER Maryland Program, the Maryland Energy Administration and the Pepco EV Smart Fleet Program. These funds will be used to support MCPS’ planned lease purchase repayments for energy savings projects that are underway at various facilities and to finance fleet electrification infrastructure.
Resolution to approve Supplemental Appropriation #26-83 to the FY26 Capital Budget, Montgomery County Public Schools, Technology Modernization (No. 036510), $1,518,337
Vote expected: The Council will hold a public hearing and is expected to vote on a resolution to approve a more than $1.5 million supplemental appropriation to the FY26 Capital Budget for the MCPS Technology Modernization Project. This increase is needed to cover technology costs that are eligible under the federal program for E-Rate rebates. As a result of the federal E-Rate funding, local funds can be used to address other technological needs within the scope of the Technology Modernization Project, such as purchasing Chromebooks, teacher laptops, computer lab technology, printers, interactive panels and network infrastructure.
