Montgomery County to Host Free Spring Mental Health Forum “Help for Recovery Through Connection” on Thursday, April 30, in Rockville
Montgomery County’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will host a free Spring Forum, “Help for Recovery thru Connection,” from 6–8 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, in Rockville. The event is open to the public and will provide practical tools to help families and individuals connect with local resources, navigate conversations about mental health and substance use, and support loved ones through prevention, crisis, and recovery.
The annual forum is for teens and adults and will be held in the Social Hall at the Bauer Drive Recreation Center, located at 14625 Bauer Drive in Rockville.

“Mental health and substance abuse services are not optional; they are essential to the well-being of our community,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “Sharing information about our services is important to help residents navigate these situations. The annual Spring Forum is a good way for residents and mental health professionals to learn what’s available to families and individuals in the way of prevention, crisis services, and treatment. We are committed to ensuring that no one has to navigate mental health or substance use challenges alone.”
The forum will include discussions on:
- Mental health and substance use services available in Montgomery County.
- How to access behavioral health and family support resources.
- Strategies for supporting individuals and families.
A resource fair featuring local mental health and substance use organizations will be available throughout the event, beginning at 6 p.m.
Students may earn up to 2.0 Student Service-Learning (SSL) hours for attending the full event. A parent or guardian consent form, along with student ID, grade, and school name, is required for verification.
Social workers may earn up to 1.5 CEUs.
The Spring Forum is hosted by DHHS’ Alcohol and Other Drug Addiction Advisory Council and its Mental Health Advisory Council.
Advance registration is required.
