The Government Operations and Fiscal Policy (GO) Committee will meet on Friday, April 24 at 9:30 a.m. to review the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Operating Budget for the Office of Racial Equity and Social Justice, Community Grants Non-Departmental Account (NDA), the Office of Grants Management and Cost Sharing: Montgomery County Government. In addition, the committee will review Executive Regulation 30-25, Extending Deadline for Racial Equity Action Plans.
The members of the GO Committee include Chair Kate Stewart and Councilmembers Shebra Evans and Sidney Katz.

Office of Racial Equity and Social Justice
Review: The GO Committee will review the nearly $1.77 million recommended FY27 Operating Budget for the Office of Racial Equity and Social Justice, which represents an increase of $90,331, or less than 5.4 percent, compared to the approved FY26 Operating Budget. The change is due entirely to compensation adjustments and nondiscretionary operating expenses. The Office of Racial Equity and Social Justice is a county-wide office focused on advancing racial equity and dismantling structural racism within County Government.
Executive Regulation 30-25, Extending Deadline for Racial Equity Action Plans
Review: The GO Committee will review Executive Regulation 30-25, Extending Deadline for Racial Equity Action Plans, which would extend the date for departments and offices to develop a racial equity action plan by 2027. The amendment would provide departments and offices additional time to complete their initial racial equity action plan in accordance with the County Code and would supersede Executive Regulation 15-21.
Community Grants Non-Departmental Account, Office of Grants Management and Cost Sharing: MCG
Review: The GO Committee will review the recommended FY27 Operating Budget for the Community Grants NDA, Office of Grants Management and Cost Sharing: MCG. The Council staff report for these items will be available by April 24.
