From New Hampshire Estates Elementary School in the south to Damascus High School in the north, I’ve been visiting schools with educators and parents to talk about the significant facility needs of our schools.
From aging classrooms to outdated infrastructure, students deserve safe and modern learning environments, and teachers deserve the tools and spaces that help them succeed in all 211 MCPS schools.
I’m committed to prioritizing school construction and modernization in the upcoming capital budget. Every child in Montgomery County deserves the opportunity to learn in facilities that reflect the quality of education we strive to provide.

The KPC Buddhist Relief grounds in Poolesville are not only beautiful, but they are home to an extraordinary community effort centered on compassion, service, and support for our neighbors. Each week, dedicated volunteers gather on the property to prepare and distribute thousands of pounds of fresh food to families across Montgomery County.
I recently had the opportunity to meet with KPC’s leaders and discuss their programs and the impact they have on the community. From the sacred stupas and serene koi ponds to the expansive vegetable gardens tended with care, every part of the KPC grounds reflects a deep commitment to helping others. These spaces are more than peaceful landmarks. They are living symbols of generosity and collective action.

It was a blast celebrating the 32 members of Poolesville Seniors who participated in the Maryland Senior Olympics Pickleball Tournament! During the tournament, Poolesville area players won 34 medals and Poolesville had the largest number of participants.
The members of Poolesville Seniors truly live up to their motto: “Stay Active!” The energy, dedication, and enthusiasm of everyone is inspiring, and it’s clear how much they contribute to the vitality of Poolesville and the broader Montgomery County community. Congratulations to the staff, members and volunteers!

It was a pleasure joining Nourishing Bethesda to help distribute Thanksgiving meals to 1,000 Montgomery County families. The smiles, gratitude, and meaningful conversations I had with residents were powerful reminders of why this annual effort is so important, especially during these challenging times.
My heartfelt thanks to the incredible organizers and volunteers who made this event possible. Your dedication embodies the spirit of community that truly defines Montgomery County.

Harmony Express has been one of our community’s most joyful musical traditions. Known for their tight harmonies, warm personalities, and unmistakable barbershop sound, the group has performed everywhere from local festivals to senior centers to neighborhood celebrations. This week I invited them to perform at the Council to officially kickoff the holiday season. Watch their performance here.
My thanks to Harmony Express for sharing their talent, service, and harmony with our community.

A Wheaton resident contacted my office after their neighbor parked a 40' long commercial truck for over a week on a residential street. The truck’s large size and placement obstructed visibility for both drivers and pedestrians. Despite requests from neighbors, the truck’s owner refused to move it. My team reached out to the Montgomery County Police Department's Vehicle Recovery Section, which promptly relocated the vehicle.
