Dear Friends,
We in Montgomery County stand firmly against President Trump’s hateful agenda and reckless government shutdown which jeopardizes the lives and livelihoods of our residents. This shutdown affects every aspect of our lives and directly threatens the tens of thousands of federal workers in Montgomery County and the wellbeing of those who depend on our social safety net programs.
Today, I joined Rep. April McClain Delaney and representatives from the Congressional Democratic Women’s Caucus to tour the Upcounty Regional Service Center to see firsthand how we work locally to connect residents to important health and human services, employment supports, and public health programs.
As we have done for the last nine months of this administration, we will continue working together with our state and federal leaders to reduce the harm and provide a wide array of support for residents and families impacted by the actions of the Trump administration.
I am grateful to have federal partners in Washington who are standing up for our more than one million residents and not bending to pressure from the White House. It is time for all of us to stand up for each other, our neighbors and the hardworking civil servants who keep our country running.
As always, feel free to contact my office if you have any questions or need assistance.
Sincerely,
 Kate Stewart Council President
