Bike Safety Legislation

Earlier this week, I introduced legislation that will enhance safety for cyclists and keep bikeways clear and accessible. The bill prohibits standing, stopping or parking in bike lanes, reinforces the county’s commitment to Vision Zero, and aligns with existing laws in places like Rockville, Washington, D.C. and Howard County, which all already prohibit parking in bike lanes.

This legislation builds upon the Safe Streets Act and is an essential next step in ensuring that our streets are safe for everyone who uses them.

Supporting NIH Workers

I recently joined current and former NIH workers to offer my support for research and science. We are fortunate to live in a community so dedicated to supporting civil servants and global healthcare.

As the Trump administration continues to make sweeping cuts to the federal workforce, contractors and nonprofit agencies, I will continue providing assistance to those who may have lost their jobs or are experiencing economic hardship.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to me so my team and I can get you the support you deserve.

Housing Unlimited

I'm proud to support Housing Unlimited, a dynamic organization that provides affordable housing for people in mental health recovery who are ready to live independently in Montgomery County.

My appreciation to their staff, board, volunteers and supporters who help this organization help our neighbors.

Hoop As You Are

The Recreation Department’s Hoop As You Are program is more than just basketball — it’s about community, inclusion and empowerment. Open to all skill levels, this program creates a safe, affirming space for everyone to play, grow and connect

I had a blast celebrating the first season. Congratulations to all the players!

Haven 101 Wellness Studio

Congratulations to Lindsey & Tom on the grand opening of Haven 101 Wellness Studio — a beautiful studio in Rockville for healing and growth.

In these turbulent times, when the news can feel overwhelming and the world heavy, self-care is important. Be kind to yourself and to others.

Constituent Corner

A woman in Kensington was out for her daily walk on one of our park trails when she realized that a water fountain wasn’t working. She reached out to me asking for help and my team flagged it for the Parks Department, which quickly repaired the fountain. The resident was extremely grateful to see it fixed so that everyone can stay hydrated while enjoying outdoor recreation this summer.

If you need help navigating local government, fill out this form and we will assist you.
