Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection Recognizes ‘America Recycles Day’ By Highlighting Safe Battery Recycling
The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the County’s Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) will recognize “America Recycles Day” with a demonstration on the hazards of unsafe battery disposal at the Shady Grove Transfer Station at 10a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15
This event will underscore that while all batteries are recyclable, improper disposal can create significant fire hazards. Batteries are essential to daily lives, powering everything from cell phones to electric vehicles. However, they can spark fires that endanger people and property when damaged or disposed of incorrectly.
