Gearing up for Election Day

2024 is set to be one of the most consequential elections of our lifetime. Voting is a sacred and fundamental right, and it’s one of the most important things you can do to defend our democracy. With early voting beginning today, I want to encourage residents to have their voting plan in place. As we’ve seen time and again in Montgomery County, every single vote matters. Make your voice count and make a plan to cast your ballot.

Early voting begins today

Early voting begins today, Oct. 24, and runs through Thursday, Oct. 31. You can find an early voting location near you in Montgomery County on the Montgomery County Board of Elections’ website. Early voting centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., including over the weekend. Remember: Any person that is registered to vote can vote during early voting. Not registered to vote? All eligible voters can register to vote at an early voting center and participate in early voting.

Vote by mail!

Voting by mail is a great option for many residents due to its convenience and accessibility, including for military voters and voters who reside outside the U.S. To vote by mail, you must request a mail-in ballot. Interested in voting by mail? The deadline for registered voters to request a mail-in ballot is Tuesday, Oct. 29.

Request a mail-in ballot by the Oct. 29 deadline!

Mail-in ballots can be placed into one of the Board of Elections’ 58 official drop boxes throughout the County, returned by mail or delivered to the Montgomery County Board of Elections Office prior to 8 p.m. on Election Day (Nov. 5). Mail-in ballots must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, and the oath on the postage-paid return envelope must be signed in order to be counted. Visit the voter look-up website to verify if your request for a mail-in ballot was received and to check the status of your mail-in ballot.
