Dear Friends,
I am calling on local changemakers, and concerned citizens of all ages to apply to either my:
- Youth Advisory Council: Apply here by Tomorrow, September 13th, 11:59 PM. Or my
- Safe and Vibrant Community Task Force: Apply here by Friday, September 27th.
These groups will help advise my policymaking. I look forward to working together!
The Youth Advisory Council provides a platform for youth to learn about community issues and local government while sharing their perspectives on the policies that will shape their futures. We seek passionate students from across the county who are committed to giving back to their community. Accepted students will receive SSL hours. Apply here by Tomorrow, September 13th, 11:59 PM to join the fourth cohort.

In July, I hosted a series of five Community Conversation events across the county in collaboration with the Regional Services Offices. These conversations brought together county officials, police, business owners, community organizations, and residents to discuss solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing our community. The conversations produced valuable community feedback on how to improve community safety, expand business-community partnerships, and address the needs of our youth.
While this was a significant undertaking, it was just the first step. Now, the work of translating this community feedback into meaningful policies begins. To assist me in this effort, I am calling on residents to join my Safe and Vibrant Communities Task Force to keep the conversations going as we develop solutions. Please Apply here by Friday, September 27th. Your voice matters, and your participation is crucial in shaping our community's future!
Sincerely,
Laurie-Anne Sayles
Councilmember At-Large.
