Teams and divisions will be established after the registration period ends.
Program Spotlight: Therapeutic Recreation
Recreation is for EVERYONE and here at Montgomery County Recreation, we provide accessible programs, leisure skills and social opportunities for individuals with disabilities through adaptive classes and events, as well as inclusion (mainstreaming). Our Therapeutic Recreation (TR) programs help participants gain confidence and have fun while providing a positive environment to play.
TR staff is dedicated to providing a wide range of innovative, exciting, inclusive and social recreational experiences for those who participate and their families.
This fall, several youth and teen TR classes include Volleyball Skills Development, Group Drumming, Sensory Music and Movement, Rock Band for Teens and Hands-On Art.
For our TR adult participants, classes include Zumba, Tai Chi and Qigong, Adult Social Swim, themed social events and Saturday Night dances with a DJ.
Another important component of our TR programming is activities like Sunday Funday Family Swims, Winter Break Camps, Kids and Teens Day Out, Sensory Friendly Holidays - Spooktacular and Santa's Workshop, all which provide a safe space to make friends and build skills!
Our goal at Montgomery County Recreation is to enhance the health, well-being and quality of life for all County residents of all abilities. Join in on the fun with us this fall.
Registration for all upcoming TR events, classes and programs can be found through ActiveMONTGOMERY. Learn more about TR at Montgomery County Recreation on our website.
