Register Now for Youth Basketball
Shoots and scores! Registration for Montgomery County Recreation’s Youth Basketball program is underway. These leagues provide a rich environment to foster development of basketball techniques and advance skills in discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork and more. From instructional leagues to future stars clinics, there is something for young basketball players of all levels.
Just last year, our youth basketball leagues had more than 5,500 participants and 800 coaches with games and practices held at more than 100 locations across the County. Players can register either as a pre-formed team or as free agents who will be assigned to teams as space allows. For more information, visit our sports page and check out the 2023-2024 brochure.
Interested in coaching? We are looking for adult volunteers to coach on Saturdays and/or Sundays for our youth leagues. We prefer volunteers with knowledge of basketball rules who demonstrate good character, patience and have a desire to help children learn. Want to serve as a referee instead? Officiant training is provided in late November and early December. To learn more, email rec.sports@montgomerycountymd.gov.
And don't miss out on our adult leagues! Montgomery County Recreation will offer both an adult league and a therapeutic recreation league. Have questions? Call 240-777-6870.

State Senator Brian Feldman and Delegates Linda Foley, Lily Qi and David Fraser-Hidalgo spoke at the ceremony and toured the outdoor fitness park, as well as Montgomery County Council Vice President Andrew Friedson and Councilmember Gabe Albornoz.
