Outdoor Pools are Now Open!
Montgomery County Recreation’s outdoor pool season has begun! During the preseason, now through June 16, outdoor pool hours are 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 3 – 6 p.m. on weekends only.
General pool admission is $15. Residents of Montgomery County receive a discount with proof of residency. Daily admission is $5 for County residents ages 1-17, $7 for adults, and $6 for seniors (age 55 and older). Summer pool passes are available for purchase and are valid through Sept. 4, 2023.
Residents are encouraged to become familiar with the safety rules posted at the pools. Children are most at risk for water-related accidents and it is important that they are always closely supervised while in and around the pool. Because safety is a priority, it may be necessary to temporarily halt admission to pools when capacity is reached. Additional swimmers will be admitted as soon as space becomes available.
Pool visitors are allowed to bring food and drink to the pools. However, they must follow the rules/regulations, which include no glass, no barbeques, no alcohol and that all coolers will be inspected.
For additional information about pool passes, amenities and hours of operations at all swimming pools, visit the website.

Holiday Park Outdoor Fitness Equipment Awarded 'Best in Category' NACo Award
Montgomery County Government won several awards for its operations and innovation in the 2023 National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Awards.
Montgomery County won the Best in Category Award in the Parks and Recreation category. The County was recognized for its outdoor fitness equipment program at the Holiday Park Senior Center in Silver Spring. The center features the first outdoor fitness space in the region.
NACo is a nonprofit organization that provides services to the nation's 3,069 counties and represents county governments across the United States. The NACo Achievement Awards recognize a county’s outstanding commitment to public service in various categories such as civic education and public information; community and economic development; children and youth; and arts and entertainment.
“I’m proud of our accomplishments here in Montgomery County and congratulate all of our fellow NACo Achievement Award recipients,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “These awards serve as national recognition for the commitment our government has toward providing innovative services to the hard-working people of Montgomery County. Our achievements would not be possible without all the hard work put forth by our County employees. I want to thank our County employees for their commitment to our residents, businesses and visitors, which led to 13 Achievement Awards.”
