As 2021 comes to a close, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich reminds us that - as we celebrate the new year safely and responsibly - we must continue to be vigilant in light of the seemingly relentless surge of the Delta and Omicron variants of COVID-19, and he looks back on some of the events and accomplishments of 2021.
The Montgomery County Government will observe special schedule changes, with many programs not being held and most facilities, including senior centers, closed for the New Year holiday weekend on Friday, Dec. 31, and Saturday, Jan. 1.
Montgomery County’s COVID-19 Information Portal provides a variety of breakdowns on how the virus has impacted the County. The statistics are updated to reflect the most recent reports from the State of Maryland during the health crisis. Among the information available is how many positive cases have been reported in each zip code in the County.
Montgomery County’s Emergency Rental Assistance program’s COVID Rent Relief application portal will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31. Applications submitted before the deadline will be reviewed and processed, but no additional applications will be received after that time.
