The increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County, and around the nation, are foremost on the mind of County Executive Marc Elrich as he explains why the County must again institute a mask-wearing mandate for indoor public spaces to help control the Delta Variant. He also talks about an upcoming vote by the State’s Board of Public Works that will decide the fate of a proposed expansion plan for I-270 and I-495. Mask Mandate in Public Indoor Areas to be Reinstituted in County to Help Prevent the Spread of COVID-19 Variant

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich’s proposal that will again require face coverings in public indoor areas was unanimously approved by the County Council on Thursday, Aug. 5. The Council approved the regulation in its role acting as the County Board of Health. The mandate will go into effect on Saturday, Aug. 7.

Montgomery County Agricultural Fair Returns to Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg Aug. 13-21

The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair will return to the fairgrounds in Gaithersburg from Friday, Aug. 13, through Saturday, Aug. 21. The fair, which was first held in 1945, was not held last year due to the COVID-19 health crisis.
