ROCKVILLE, Md., Feb. 4, 2021—Council President Tom Hucker and Vice President Gabe Albornoz will hold a media briefing on Monday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. The duo will share information on the Covid-19 vaccine rollout and the response from Maryland's Department of Health, discuss ongoing concerns about vaccinations in nursing and group homes and provide an update on indoor dining in restaurants.
The Council leaders will discuss the decision by the Maryland State Highway Administration to widen the Capital Beltway and Interstate 270 with four toll lanes. They will also cover important Council matters, including the upcoming vote on ZTA 20-01, which will allow solar farms on a portion of the county's Agricultural Reserve, and the Feb. 9 public hearing on the FY22 Capital Budget.
Montgomery County Health and Human Services Director Dr. Raymond Crowel will join the media availability and provide a Covid-19 public health update.
The media availability will be held via Zoom and is for credentialed members of the media only.
