Montgomery County Commission for Women Announce Logo Contest Winner and Unveil New Logo

The Montgomery County Commission for Women has announced that Sheelagh Ortega is the winner of the “Create Our New Logo” contest. Sheelagh is a longtime resident of Montgomery County and originally from Lima, Peru. Her involvements in the County include serving as a board member of directors at Montgomery Community Media, assisting efforts in the Department of Health and Human Services, and attending Montgomery College.

The winning logo was selected because of its clean design, modern layout, unique representation of the diverse women we serve in the County.

The logo contest, open to County residents, ran July through Sept. 1, 2020. The logo contest aimed to improve the Commission’s overall branding and provide a refreshed but original look. Judging was led by Commissioners on the Public Relations Committee, with input from all of the Commissioners. The Commission is pleased to elevate this design created by a woman in our County which will further represent the Commission’s work and programs.

The Montgomery County Commission for Women is both an advisory board to, and an office of, County government. The Commission is supported by the executive director and director of special events and programs who works with a 15-member citizen advisory panel. Commissioners are appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the County Council to serve three-year terms, without compensation.
