A Message from County Executive Marc Elrich

happy thanksgiving

Dear Friends,

I want to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. I know many of us are disappointed that we can’t gather in large groups with our family and friends. This has been a difficult year for so many.

However, despite all the sadness and hardship brought by the pandemic, I would like to express my thanks. I am thankful for all you – the residents of Montgomery County who have been willing to follow the guidelines to try to stop the spread.  I am grateful for so many of you who have given to others – given your time, your energy, your resources – to help those who are struggling.  I am grateful for your support of our many wonderful businesses and organizations.

I am also thankful for the many workers who have kept our County government and enterprises operating. Thank you to our first responders and to our medical and hospital staff all around the County.  Thank you to our essential workers who have kept our grocery stores and other establishments open. I am thankful for the creativity and perseverance of our business owners and operators.

I hope that you are able to celebrate Thanksgiving and also protect your health and those around you.

Everyone should have one main goal for this year’s holidays – keeping friends and family safe.

Celebrating virtually this year may make it possible to celebrate together in-person next year.

Please #MaskUpMoCo, maintain physical distance and remember to wash your hands throughout the day.

With gratitude and in appreciation,

Marc Elrich
