Montgomery County Recreation is Hiring; Will Host Job Fairs in Early 2020

Montgomery County Recreation is hiring part-time seasonal employees to work during the 2020 summer season, and as part of the recruiting process the department will host four job fairs after the start of the new year. 

Available positions include lifeguards, camp counselors, camp directors and mainstream companions. Part-time/seasonal pay is competitive at $13 an hour and increases based on experience. Applicants must be at least 15 years of age. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

The job fairs are scheduled at the following locations and dates:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 7, 3 - 7 p.m. at the Plum Gar Community Recreation Center, 19561 Scenery Dr., Germantown.
  • Thursday, Jan. 9, 6 - 8 p.m. at the Mid-County Community Recreation Center, 2004 Queensguard Rd., Silver Spring.
  • Saturday, Jan. 18, 2 - 6 p.m. at the Olney Indoor Swim Center, 16605 Georgia Ave., Olney.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 26, 5 - 8 p.m. at the Gwendolyn Coffield Community Recreation Center, 2450 Lyttonsville Rd., Silver Spring.

Applicants should bring their resumes, come dressed for success and be prepared to discuss their experience. The department is looking for dedicated, hardworking and motivated individuals. Job applications will be available at the four job fairs.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be required to pass a criminal background investigation. The investigation will include state, federal and sex offender background checks.
