Montgomery County Maryland sent this bulletin at 10/30/2019 09:38 AM EDTHealth Insurance Enrollment Begins Nov. 1 Through Maryland Health Connection; Special, Get-Connected Enrollment Events Nov. 2
For Immediate Release: Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019
Montgomery County residents can enroll in health and dental coverage through Maryland Health Connection (MHC) beginning Friday, Nov. 1. MHC is the state’s official health insurance marketplace. www.marylandhealthconnection.gov/ is a one-stop-shop to browse plans, compare coverage and costs, and enroll. Residents have until Sunday, Dec. 15, to sign up for 2020 coverage.
Health plan rates have dropped this year by an average of 10 percent. Value Plans, new this year, offer lower out-of-pocket costs and more services before one has to meet the deductible. “We are extremely pleased that for the second year in a row, most plans offered through MHC will offer lower monthly rates for consumers,” said Michele Eberle, executive director of Maryland Health Benefit Exchange (MHBE).
Last year, nine out of 10 Marylanders who enrolled through MHC received financial help to cover some or all their costs.
Free, in-person help is available from a certified health insurance navigator with MHC, a group working on behalf of MHC. Assistance also is available in multiple languages.
Montgomery County residents can get help signing up by visiting the MHC office at:
